World Mental Health Day is celebrated on 10 October every year to raise global awareness of the importance of mental health and well-being. It’s a day to bring people together to talk about mental health and share ideas on how to make it a priority.

Mental health is an important issue that deserves our attention, not only because it affects one in five people worldwide, but also because it has a significant impact on our lives and those around us. Mental health problems can lead to difficulties in everyday life, such as reduced productivity, social isolation, and financial issues.

There are many ways you can celebrate World Mental Health Day. You can join a local mental health group or event, donate to a mental health charity, or read about ways to improve your own mental wellbeing. You can also take part in global campaigns like Mind Your Mood which aims to raise awareness about the importance of mental health across the world. Whatever you do, remember that making mental health & well-being for all a global priority is one step closer to guaranteeing that everyone has the opportunity to live a full and happy life.

Mental Health in Ghana

Mental Health is a significant issue in Ghana. A study done in 2017 indicated that one in four Ghanaians have experienced at least one traumatic event in their lives, and nearly half of the respondents (48%) have experienced some form of mental health issue. The study found that women are more likely to experience mental health issues than men, and people with lower levels of education and income are more likely to experience mental health problems.

It’s an important day to raise awareness for mental health. Here are five ways you can celebrate this day and help to raise awareness for mental health:
