Insomnia is a common sleep disorder that affects millions of people. It’s estimated that between 50-70 million people in the United States have insomnia. If you’re one of these people, then you know that it can be a real problem and Insomnia in Ghana is on the rise. According to a study published in the International Journal of Sleep Medicine, cited by Viva Health Magazine insomnia has increased by 50% in Ghana since 2007.

The study surveyed 2,000 adults from across Ghana about their sleep habits and found that 30% of participants reported experiencing insomnia at least once a month. The most common reasons for sleeplessness were stress (47%) and worry (41%).

Insomnia can have serious health consequences, including weight gain, problems with concentration and memory, and decreased productivity. Insomnia can have a negative impact on your health in a number of ways. It can make it difficult to stay asleep, it can lead to daytime fatigue, and it can even increase your risk of developing heart disease.
